Coming up with Craft & Garden Ideas

One thing I can say is; "The longer this move takes, the more idea's I come up with."  Which is both good and bad.  The good side is having an idea of what I want, and am able to somewhat prioritize before hand.  The bad side is having an overwhelming amount of ideas, and I can't really work on any of them.  Faire didn't help much with that either.  I ended up coming home with a little garb companion, and I've got so many ideas for her.

On top of all the Home Decor stuff, there's also a lot of gardening stuff.  Prioritization says that the garden comes first, since I probably won't have much time to work on it.  At least anything that involves plants will need to be done right away.  That doesn't mean I'm not considering all the things I can do outside.  Like mason jar and washtub planters, or water features, kiddie pool lounge, pallet furniture, ect.

The list just keeps growing by the minute, and I feel stuck.  I hope we get to move soon I need to get back to having a place to work on things.

Transplanting Pumpkins

Thursday I decided it was time to put the pumpkins in larger containers, even though we haven't moved yet.  They just seemed too crowded, and I didn't feel comfortable waiting any longer.  So I pulled out some extra dollar store storage containers I had sitting around, and set them up as temporary planters.

I have to say they all seem happy in their new home for now.  It was also a bit of a surprise that I didn't lose any of them due to the 90+ temps that day.  Of course it cooled down considerably a couple of days later, when I wouldn't have had the time.  Oh well, all's well that ends well I guess.

Moving Blues, and Balcony Gardens

So things have been more than a little chaotic lately.  I'm in the process of moving, everything is everywhere, and nothing is going as it should.  To make a long story short; my Roommate, and I thought we'd be in our new apartment by now.  We most definitely are still in a two bedroom unit that is feeling more crowded everyday, waiting for the two bedroom house apartment we're supposed to be getting.  I won't get into the gory details, but I will say this move has become rather frustrating.
For me the hardest part right now is my balcony garden that I started a while back.  I over planted, with the idea that I would have a place to spread out my plants by this point.  Now a lot of the planters still have more than enough room for the plants growing in them.  There are a couple however that I'm beginning to get worried about.  The main one being my pumpkins.  They kind of took off like weeds, and are in the most danger of over crowding.  Next would be a tie between the lettuce, and spinach.  There still just sprouts, but there are so many of them. I don't think it will be too long before they start crowding each other. Well that's all I can really talk about right now, maybe something will come to mind tonight. Anyways, have a good night everyone.

If at first you don't succeed...

I started this blog over a year ago, with the intention of using it to track my "survival skills" research.  The idea was for me to look up various topics, do some testing of my own, and then type up my take on the subject.  Clearly it didn't go very far as this is my second post, a year and a half later.  While I believe the initial delivery was too complex, it still feels like this is a subject I should try to continue with.  I enjoy gardening, cooking/baking, and crafting.  All of which can be quite useful for everyday survival, as well as during extreme situations.  From now on the plan is to use this as a personal blog that focuses on everyday survival stuff.  I'm choosing  to go this route as it currently feels the most natural for me, and will actually give me something to post.  Its possible that this method could change, but probably not anytime soon.
