The art of Survival

My Dad's always been a bit of a nut when it comes to being prepared for an emergency.  I wasn't able to get rid of any sweaters or sweatshirts until after I moved out.  I also don't think I could ever forget the time he got upset, because I unraveled an old sweater for the yarn.  That thing was barely holding it self  together, and he still threw a fit about it.  He had also wanted me to put together an emergency survival binder, and supplies.  It might seem a bit silly to use a blog as my emergency binder.  Since any emergency that I would need it for probably comes with no electricity.  My plan is for this blog to be more of a research area where I post various information that I find, and add my own ideas/ notes.
I'm going to start by looking into the basics: Power outage during extreme weather, if your vehicle breaks down in the middle of nowhere, or breaks down in bad weather, ect. After that I will look in to progressively worse situations: Surviving a tornado, hurricane, earthquake, ect.  I may even look into "Prepping" if I keep up with it long enough, but it will be my take on what should be done. I mean seriously I can see a couple years worth of canned food, but anything more than that is just a delay of the inevitable. At least it seems that way to me, of coarse no one can really know until they end up in that situation. Hopefully no one ever ends up in that situation though.
Well it's getting pretty late here so I think I'm going to call it a night, and get ready for bed. Hope to talk to you all again soon. Night.
